More Information about Rotary Index Tables
Rotary index tables use an air cylinder to drive a rack and pinion system. The pinion is attached to the lower end of a toothed ratchet. A pawl engages the ratchet once the required rotation angle has been reached, and prevents the index table from rotating further.
Standard rotation angles are 90 degrees (4-stations), 60 degrees (6-stations), 45 degrees (8-stations), 30 degrees (12-stations) and 15 degrees (24-stations).
