Non-lube rotary screw compressors are necessary for applications that require clean, oil-free compressed air.
There are many applications that require the compressed air be free of oil.
Non-lube rotary screw compressors function similar to standard oil-lubricated rotary screw compressors.
They are sometimes referred to as clearance compressors since the screws mesh with each other, but they do not actually touch each other as they rotate. This clearance between the screws combined with a lack of an oil seal leads to a constant leakage. This means that two-stages are required to produce suitable efficiencies.
